More than two weeks into December and the awards season has fallen into a lull with many critics groups building a consensus behind 12 Years A Slave. 12 Years A Slave is not alone in its multitude of wins however, Cate Blanchett, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jared Leto are all early favorites in their categories. Announcing their own picks today the Online Film Critics Society broke up some of the monotony and added a couple of surprises in going for Michael Fassbender for Best Supporting Actor and Alfonso Cuarón for Best Director.
The Academy Awards are never a sure-fire prediction, but with such a huge haul to its name, will 12 Years A Slave similarly take it all come March?
