It feels like it might be too easy and knee-jerk reactionary to trash on this bit of news, but come, how can I not? Sometimes the low-hanging fruit is the tastiest. It’s like the greedy and dark side of franchise filmmaking has finally made its way to my entire growing up period. It’s like they did this without pausing to ask if anybody actually wanted this. Toy Story 3 came out during my first year of college, and I almost cried at that film, it was made especially for someone my age. I know I’m not the only one.
John Lasseter (who directed the first 2 films) will be returning, and fresh and welcome face Rashida Jones will be co-writing the screenplay with Will McCormack. And naturally, Tim Allen and Tom Hanks will return. Toy Story managed to be a perfect trilogy, and that’s not up for debate. So the fact that they’ve decided to make another one just feels greedy at this point. Just like in Toy Story 3, we’re just gonna have to face this and join hands hoping for the best but accepting the worst.
Toy Story 4 will come out June 16th, 2017.

NO!!! I don’t want another film. 3 films is already perfect enough. I’d rather just continue with the shorts.
This definitely doesn’t look like a good idea. But then, who would imagine that TS3 was going to be such a masterpiece? It’s going to be released on by birthday – I’l hope for a good present although I am a bit sceptical…
