Dan Gilroy’s Nightcrawler was one of my favorite films of last year, so naturally I picked it up immediately when it came out on Blu Ray last week. In addition to picking up my favorite films upon their home releases, I also like to look up any minimalist posters online that have cropped up since the movie’s release. I always find it interesting how these one sheets capture certain aspects of the film, so I’ve pulled together a few that really stuck out. Check them out below.
By Joris Laquittant, this poster details the relationship between Lou Bloom and the city of Los Angeles, him towering above it like a predator.
By Mark Reihill, this one details the psyche of Lou Bloom. Note the fracturing line between his face, separating his focused smile from his deadlier and darker side lying just underneath. He’s always just a moment away from snapping.
(Artist unknown) This one literalizes the relationship between Lou Bloom and his camera, heightening his talent and need to record everything on camera.
By Janee Meadows, this one also highlights the fractured psyche of Lou Bloom with his more sociable side on full display, but a small frame of him snapping is just breaking through, disrupting the side of himself he’d like to show off. To cap it off, the macabre quote from the film tops the poster.

The one with the camera is great. I’d hang that on my wall if I knew who did it.
