It’s been a long process, but we’ve finally got a domestic release date for Terry Gilliam’s newest film The Zero Theorem along with a new trailer. The film will be released on iTunes on August 19th ahead of a limited theatrical release starting September 19th. The film stars Christoph Waltz as Qohen Leth, a computer hacker who is tasked with searching for the meaning of life in a not-too-distant dystopia.
Terry Gilliam is synonymous with production troubles, as he’s had more trouble getting projects funded and released more than any other 3 filmmakers put together. He looks to be heading back to Brazil and 12 Monkeys territory with The Zero Theorem, and it should be an intriguing final product to witness. I’ve been looking forward to this film for quite some time and am happy to mark off August 19th on my calendar to rent the film on iTunes.
The Zero Theorem is directed by Terry Gilliam and stars Christoph Waltz, Tilda Swinton, Ben Whishaw, David Thewlis and Melanie Thierry. The film will be released on iTunes August 19th, and in theaters September 19th. Check out the trailer below.
