It’s hard to imagine a world in which Letterboxd doesn’t exist. Since its opening in 2011, the New Zealand based outlet has become a staple in the ever-expanding film community. Many cinema-centered sites, criticism or otherwise, open and close every day. It would appear Letterboxd is here to stay.
That is why as of today I am excited to announce that Movie Mezzanine will be partnering up with the emerging social media site. The good folks at Letterboxd have created a custom Mezzanine widget that will be placed inside every review we write from this moment forward. Inside that widget you’ll be able to quickly rate, write and log movies, along with other useful features. See The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, Grave of the Fireflies, and Delivery Man for examples.
If for some ungodly reason you’re without a Letterboxd account, I’d make it a point to change that. As of my knowledge, there is no other website on the Internet that effectively and elegantly tailors to the needs of cinephiles quite like this. Even better, this great service is free of charge.
Once you’re signed up, you can follow some of your favorite writers from around the web, which (hopefully) includes some fellow Mezzanine authors: Sam Fragoso, Andrew Johnson, Jake Cole, Russell Hainline and many, many others.
We hope you enjoy the new addition to the site. Now go log and write about some movies.

I love Letterboxd. It’s a great site to keep track of your film viewings and make lists.
That’s awesome. Letterboxd has become one of my favorite sites. I wish there was something comparable for books or music. Also, the new layout here at the Mezzanine is quite nice!
