New stills from Scott Cooper’s Out of the Furnace have arrived, giving us a look at Christian Bale and Casey Affleck as two brothers with a penchant for attracting trouble. The film centers on Bale as Russell Baze, an ex-con who must stop his younger brother from meeting the same fate when he enters the seedy world of bare-knuckle boxing in his post-military life.
While Baze could just ignore the situation and enjoy his newfound freedom, his love for his sibling and his desire to see him not make the same mistakes draw him back into that gritty, Rust Belt world. And it’s one that’s fortunately (for us), pretty star-studded, also including Forest Whitaker (also seen below with Bale and Affleck), Willem Dafoe, Sam Shepard and Zoe Saldana.
