The 39th Toronto Film Festival has announced part of their expected lineup today and unsurprisingly there is a lot of future awards contenders making the rounds such as The Imitation Game starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Bennett Miller’s Foxcatcher. Rounding out some of the high-profile premieres are The Judge starring Robert Downey Jr. and Robert Duvall, Jon Stewart’s Rosewater, Jason Reitman’s Men, Women and Children featuring Adam Sandler in a serious role again and biopics of Stephen Hawking and Bobby Fischer.
The closing night feature will be A Little Chaos starring Kate Winslet directed by Alan Rickman, who is stepping into the role of directing for the first time. An opening film has not yet been announced, but festival heads Piers Handling and Cameron Bailey said they would do so shortly.
TIFF runs September 4th through the 14th.
