Dear Readers of Movie Mezzanine,
As you probably have noticed, Movie Mezzanine looks a bit different this morning. That’s because today marks the grand opening of Movie Mezzanine 2.0 – completely redesigned and ready to move forward as an online publication.
We’ve made some significant changes around here that all of you will notice as time passes. But if I can digress for a moment, I’d like to take this time to thank the readers of Movie Mezzanine. Although we’ve only been open since January 2nd of this year, we’ve quickly amassed a quality, actively growing readership. We’ve been quoted in USA Today and the New York Times. And we’ve been able to cover some of the most pertinent and fascinating film festivals around the world, from the Sundance Film Festival to Tribeca to Ebertfest.
I mention these accomplishments this morning because it’s important to know that none of it (and I do mean none of it) could’ve happened without the endless support so many of you give Movie Mezzanine on a daily basis.
As for the future of the site… more exciting renovations and changes to come for sure. Alas, no matter what radical changes take shape down the road, we’ll always be a publication dedicated to covering independent and mainstream cinema with insight and equality.
We hope all of you stick around for Act II of this program. And Readers, I forgot to say this when Movie Mezzanine went live back in January … but I’m beginning to think this, is the beginning of a beautiful friendship.
Sincerely,
~ Sam Fragoso

First of all I want to compliment you for keeping your site so bright and beautiful. Especially when you’ve landed at the post you want to read, it’s a joy to see.
I’m still not quite on board with the front page, but that’s probably mostly about me being a little old, conservative and confused. I just think there are too many places to look at with wall those columns and teasers. I don’t know where to look and click and it’s not obvious to me which article that is the latest update. Again: I know this is modern design, so don’t pay too much attention to me. It’s just that I prefer oldstyle blog design with one post after another…. Anyway: if I have issues with messiness on the top level, it’s really not a problem, since I can choose to read all posts through a reader. Currently Google’s reader, soon to be replaced with something else. I’m glad that you let me do that, not breaking the posts so I have to click my way through your site if I want to read the entire post, which is something that really annoys me about some blogs.
Jessica! Thanks for stopping by and leaving your thoughts. We’ll be sure to take your comments into consideration. Personally I find the homepage to be pretty clean and organized. But you may be right in terms of “too much to look at.”
