October 17 will see the simultaneous theatrical and VOD release of Default, a thriller about a news crew’s plane that gets hijacked on the runway. The film keeps the action inside the plane, turning up the heat as the hostages attempt to make contact with the outside world. Confined thrillers like this aren’t unprecedented, but require much skill and finesse to pull off.
