Best known for his widely inventive Science-Fiction masterpieces Brazil and Twelve Monkeys, Terry Gilliam’s new Sci-Fi film Zero Theorem, has locked up US distribution with the help of Amplify and Well Go USA Entertainment. The film is expected to open late this summer with a home video release to follow. The specific release date has yet to be determined.
Gilliam’s latest stars two-time Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz, as a computer genius who lives in a burnt-out church working on a project whose objective is to discover the meaning of life. Waltz is joined by an incredible cast that includes Matt Damon, Tilda Swinton, David Thewlis, Melanie Thierry and Lucas Hedges. While its reception at the Venice Film Festival last year can only be defined as mixed, as long as Gilliam brings his trademark dystopian ideologies, Zero Theorem should be just fine.
