Today has news regarding the next films of Nicolas Winding Refn and David O. Russell. Despite reports from a few weeks ago, it looks like Refn will instead focus on his long-gestating horror-thriller I Walk With the Dead over The Bringing. He broke the news through his mostly silent Twitter account.
The silence has been broken my next film will be I WALK WITH THE DEAD shooting in LA

Not much is known about the project, other than it’s rumored to star his Drive companion Carey Mulligan and is scripted by Polly Stenham, and that according to him, he wanted to “make a movie with lots of sex”. Nicolas Winding Refn is certainly a controversial director, but even on his hardest to access films, he still does it in such an uncompromising manner you can’t help but admire at his talent. Here’s hoping Mulligan is still on board and that production will begin soon with room for a 2015 release date.
David O. Russell on the other hand has a firm release date set for his American Hustle followup with the biopic of the Miracle Mop inventor Joy Mangano, aptly titled Joy with a release date of Dec. 25th, 2015. Jennifer Lawrence will re-team with him in the title role, which follows Joy, the single mother of 3 kids when she invented the product, and follows through her immense success with the product and her fame on the Home Shopping Network. Lawrence has proven herself to be one of the most capable actresses of her generation, and I like the prospect of her coming back to Russell after the success of The Silver Linings Playbook and the bland but still profitable American Hustle. Russell is no stranger to awards/holiday season for his films, and he looks to line up some more Oscar nods for himself.
