In what will undoubtedly serve as the plot of a revived Entourage season 9, the HBO show’s long-simmering film adaptation has reached it’s latest obstacle: Ari Gold actor Jeremy Piven’s pay. Piven, who according to The Hollywood Reporter, had long made far more than his costars throughout the show’s run, seemed set to continue the trend with his film contract. However, the rest of the cast is not happy with this, as “negotiations with co-stars Adrian Grenier, Kevin Connolly, Jerry Ferrara and Kevin Dillon have become heated in part because they want pay more comparable with Piven’s.” On the other hand, Warner Brothers, the film’s studio, is determined to keep the film’s budget at $30 Million.
In any case, the latest setback has to be resolved soon: the production is reliant on a California tax credit that it’s already received–and will be revoked if production doesn’t begin in the near future.
