News for Bond 24 has finally arisen in the form of rumors surrounding the possibility of recent Oscar Nominee Chiwetel Ejiofor joining the film as the villain. The Wrap broke the news, stating that multiple individuals familiar with the project have informed them of this casting conversation.
Personally I would pay good money to see Chiwetel Ejiofor play a Bond villain, who in my mind gave the best performance of 2013 as Solomon Northup in 12 Years a Slave. He’s no stranger to playing the villain either, doing a convincing job in Joss Whedon’s Firefly followup Serenity, as well as a villain of sorts in Alfonso Cuaron’s Children of Men.
Bond 24 is expected to film from November through April 2015, with a current release date of November 6, 2015. Ejiofor’s due next to film John Hillcoat’s Triple 9 this summer so he presumably would be done with it before Bond 24’s November start date. Sam Mendes and John Logan will return to direct and write their followup to the last spectacular Bond film Skyfall. Daniel Craig will return in the tuxedo, with Ralph Fiennes, Naomie Harris and Ben Whishaw reprising their roles as M, Moneypenny and Q. They’ve still got a few months to finalize casting deals, but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear confirmation on this particular bit of information within the next few weeks.

If the decision is final, I’d like to see Ejiofor pull off something similar to what Sean Bean did in Goldeneye. A rogue MI6 operative who actually gets the upper hand on Bond.
It’s funny you mention that because a friend and I were talking that it would be cool to see a pseudo-remake of Man with the Golden Gun, and Ejiofor certainly could serve well as an anti-Bond like Bean and Christopher Lee did in their outings.
