As part of Grantland’s Errol Morris Week last week, they debuted a brand new short documentary from the prolific filmmaker titled “It’s Not Crazy, It’s Sports”, each highlighting a bizarre true story involving sports and their fans. The last one is subtitled “Most Valuable Whatever”, in which Morris interviews a group of people who bid on and own bizarre sports memorabilia such as Ty Cobb’s dentures, the jersey Mark Sanchez wore in the butt fumble play and the toilet that the Toronto Maple Leafs sat on. It’s a nice piece for Morris to go out on for his short documentaries for Grantland, as it’s a fascinating look at why people want to own little bits of history. Check it out below.
