As part of Grantland’s Errol Morris week, they will be unveiling a new short documentary by the prolific filmmaker each day titled “It’s Not Crazy, It’s Sports” that feature bizarre true stories related to sports and their fans. The latest one is subtitled “The Heist”, which follows the semi-failed attempt by some Duke fans who stole the giant University of North Carolina Michael Jordan jersey that hung from the rafters as a prank in 1998. Morris paces the film with the tense air of a conspiracy being unraveled, examining the lengths to which sports fans will go to humiliate their rivals. Check it out here, as the embed isn’t working.
