I got to give DC some credit I suppose, even though I hate Zack Snyder and despised Man of Steel, they have made some nice moves to reel me back into the theater for the upcoming sequel Batman Vs. Superman. First they nabbed Ben Affleck to play Bruce Wayne/Batman, a choice I am fully behind. Then Jesse Eisenberg signed on to play Lex Luthor, whose interpretation I am interested to see. Oscar-winning Argo screenwriter Chris Terrio was brought on to touch up the screenplay. More importantly, Wonder Woman will be hitting the big screen played by Gal Gadot. And today, Variety reported that the character of Cyborg will be showing up the film, played by Broadway actor Ray Fisher.
As a kid who went through middle school with the help of Teen Titans, which featured Cyborg, I am very excited to see the character of Cyborg brought to life on screen. Although I can’t help but wonder if this is just the latest comic character that Snyder will find a way to ruin. And with this many Justice League members coming together for a non-Justice League film, I can’t help but speculate they are overloading themselves in an attempt to catch up to Marvel, who is practically doing victory laps these days. Nonetheless, I am excited to see Cyborg portrayed on screen by newcomer Ray Fisher.
Batman Vs. Superman is written by David S. Goyer and Chris Terrio, and directed by Zack Snyder. It will be released May 6, 2016
