The first trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s highly anticipated Thomas Pynchon adaptation Inherent Vice has finally landed online, and I am absolutely speechless. This looks totally loony, and I mean that as a gigantic compliment. As you’re watching the trailer, every time you think you’re understanding what’s going on with this film and it’s tone, it completely pulls the rug out from under you. This is the rare bit of trailer footage that works because of how incoherent it all is, and leaves me at a loss for how to process my reaction. All I can say is that I’m even more excited for this film than I thought I would be. Just watch the trailer, it speaks for itself. You’ll see what I mean.
Inherent Vice stars Joaquin Phoenix, Josh Brolin, Reese Witherspoon, Katherine Waterston, Benicio Del Toro, Owen Wilson and Micheal K. Williams. It will be released in limited theaters on Dec. 12th, with a wide expansion on Jan. 9th.

It looks crazy but goddamn, I wanna see it. I think it’s a return of sorts of early PT Anderson. Plus, the trailer features the BEST IN THE WORLD.
It’s like Snatch meets American Hustle. Can’t wait.
that’s the worst comment i’ve ever seen. both those movies suck. Inherent Vice, on the other hand, looks amazingly effin awesome
