Kick off your day with the first look The Guest, the new thriller from the duo behind You’re Next – Adam Wingard and Simon Barrett. The film follows a soldier (Dan Stevens) who comes to the family of a fallen comrade to befriend them before becoming a threat to everyone as the mystery of who he really is begins to unravel.
I was a big fan of You’re Next, finding it to be a fresh and enjoyable horror comedy and I like the idea of the duo stretching their wings away from just the horror genre. The Guest finds Wingard and Barrett splitting duties, with Barrett on the screenplay and Wingard on the direction. There’s not much to go on in this trailer, but it reveals a compelling sense of unease throughout that has me intrigued. Stevens (Downton Abbey) looks to be in top form here, and I look forward to getting a release date for The Guest.
