One of the lowest moments for me personally this year was when the release date for this film was moved from Oct. 24th to Feb. 13th of next year, citing the need for extra time on visual effects. They’ve ramped the marketing campaign back up though, with another exciting trailer that thankfully doesn’t just recycle footage from the first trailer they released. This new footage just amps me up even more. It shows off some sleek and stylistic action sequences, and has a lisped Samuel L. Jackson responding to the news of mass death at his hands with “Do I look like I give a f–k?”. This film looks like Matthew Vaughn’s response to not getting to direct a Bond film: “(insert expletives) Bond, I’ll make my own Bond”. I’m all in. I was all in before, but now I’m somehow even more all in.
The film will be released Feb. 13th, 2015 and stars Taron Egerton, Colin Firth, Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Caine and Mark Strong.
