The first trailer for Kill The Messenger has hit the web. Starring Jeremy Renner as news reporter Gary Webb, it follows how he discovers a conspiracy for the CIA to sell arms to Contra rebels in Nicaragua in exchange for the importation of cocaine into California.
I’ve been a fan of Renner for some time now, and I like that he’s using the Hollywood clout he gained from his career turn in mostly bland but profitable action films to get smaller films like this made. The trailer shows off an impressive cast, an intriguing story and it doesn’t hurt that it has an effective use of Kid Cudi’s REVOFEV.
Kill The Messenger is directed by Michael Cuesta. Starring Jeremy Renner, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Oliver Platt, Michael Sheen, Rosemarie DeWitt, Ray Liotta, Robert Patrick, Paz Vega, Andy Garcia, Michael Kenneth Williams, Tim Blake Nelson and Barry Pepper and will be released on October 10th.
