Each year at Comic-Con, Studios fill up Hall H with various panels with one goal: get everyone hyped about the exclusive announcements, trailers, what have you. It seems that each year, every couple minutes some new big thing is announced, and if you have a life it can get difficult to keep up on all of it. Even though this year seems lighter than others, I’ve gathered below some of the main headlines so that you can sound up to date at parties. Feel free to add any other bits of news you deem noteworthy in the comments below.
- Gareth Edwards confirmed thatĀ Godzilla 2 will feature Mothra, Rodan and King Ghidorah.
- After successfully reviving the King of the Monsters inĀ Godzilla, Legendary Pictures will now turn their attention to reviving King Kong with the upcoming Skull Island, to be released on Nov. 4th, 2016. No director or writer is currently attached.
- A sequel to Guardians of the Galaxy is already in the works with James Gunn returning to write and direct and will be released July 28th, 2017.
- The first look at Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman (and 1 of 43 main characters apparently) in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.
- Sam Raimi is doing an Evil Dead TV show instead of working on Army of Darkness 2 or a sequel to last year’s Evil Dead remake, will not explain why that’s a good idea.
Each year new footage is unveiled for several projects. Though teasers for Avengers: Age of Ultron, Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice as well as a new trailer for Interstellar were shown, those have not made their way online in a high quality version. We do thankfully have the first excellent trailer for Mad Max: Fury Road, which you can watch below.
