Adam Goldberg turns 43 today. With 79 credits spanning across movies, music videos and TV, he is one of the quintessential supporting actors of our generation, bringing his distinctive brand of nerdy fast-talking charm to every role he plays.
Some might not know his name, but browsing through his credits shows what a ubiquitous presence he’s been. He was Mike Newhouse, the nerdy guy who stands up for himself to mixed results in Dazed and Confused. He was Chandler’s crazy roommate Eddie on a brief stretch of Friends. He was Christopher Walken’s assistant in the first film of the Prophecy franchise. He was Private Mellish, subject of one of Steven Spielberg’s most disturbing scenes in Saving Private Ryan. He was the man in the music video of Sixpence None The Richer’s cover of “There She Goes.” He’s had bit parts in many films large and small throughout the 2000’s (Zodiac, A Beautiful Mind, Deja Vu, Nancy Drew) and was one of the leads in Julie Delpy’s 2 Days in Paris. And perhaps most infamously, he was The Hebrew Hammer, a Jewish superhero who had to save Hanukkah from Santa’s evil brother, if you can believe it.
He has two films in development: a TV film called Divorce: A Love Story and a film called No Way Jose. Goldberg also fronts a band called The Goldberg Sisters, who performed on Craig Ferguson in 2011.
